Macro Monday and I Feel Fine

I took down the Christmas tree today, and I feel fine:). Although it is now dark and I am already missing the cozy feel the lit tree can give a room, I am glad it's gone. Breathing space, and there is more room for the band to set up and play. Beatles rock band, that is, a favorite gift of my children's Christmas this year. And while I am loving how they are appreciating The Beatles, I am beginning to think and talk in Beatle music speak. The songs are running through and in and out and narrating my thoughts. As I was taking down the tree and unwinding all those lights the band played on, and on. I could not resist singing along, or even doing an impromptu drum solo as they played set after set and debated who resembled which Beatle the most.
Hey la, hey la hello ya, you say good bye and I say hello, eight days a week.

  1. We took down our tree Yesterday, and I'm pretty happy about it, While My Guitar Gently Weeps about it. Sorry, I guess Beatle-speak is catching! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah - nice photo!

  2. First off... lovely picture. Having said that, we too got Beatles Rockband for Christmas and we're loving it. However, I keep finding myself asking Prudence to come out and play.

  4. Love the pine shot! We have the tree up for such a short time, and in the hustle and bustle of work leading up to Christmas Day, we never get to enjoy it and the wonderful scent until we have this wonderful week between Christmas and New Years. So, ours will stay up until Saturday or Sunday, and then I will be very sad to see it go, as it will be time to go back to school and the busy hectic schedules.

As for the Beatles ... I have two drummers (and sets) in the house as well as guitars and amps like you would not believe, as my oldest son's band practices here. But the big gift in our house was the Beatles remastered CD's. My husband is collecting them now (as well as my 18 year old son). That music is timeless! I love to hear kids of these days playing it.

  5. Nostalgia time. Very nice photo. When the tree comes down and the decorations are put away it seems so bare. When I was a kid, all the Christmas things were taken down on New Year's Day. No more holiday and school the next day. New Year's Day always marked the beginning of the long gray winter (and no holidays for what seemed an eternity).
