Skywatch Friday
We have discovered this lovely fishing spot on a river that is about a 12 min. drive from our home. Who knew. We went back last weekend for a few stolen hours. These pictures were taken looking opposite directions up and down the river. The guys fish and I read my book, relax and take deep breaths. It is heavenly.

I Heart Faces, especially this one
I am entering this photo of my adorable nephew in the I Heart Faces weekly contest. This photo is a fav of mine. I had the pleasure of taking about fifty photos of my him one early Summer evening. At first he kind of went along with my idea of doing a photo shoot, giving me forced cheesy smiles. But then he really got into it. It was so funny he turned into a little GQ model by the time I was finished and told him we were done. This was one of the last photos I snapped that day. The sun was beginning to set and I think he was pondering his existence, or something. LOL. "Can we do this again next time I come over?" Aunt Kathy he asked.

Shadow Shot for Sunday
Captured a shadow mid- afternoon on a Sunday recently while Donovan gets up the courage to try the rope swing. I am so proud of this boy; loving middle school, off with a smile and a wave just like the day he started pre-school. I have two like that, and two who transition less easily into new routines, more skeptical and less likely to focus on the positive over the negative, and, less likely to love their first day of school. I think this was my "best first day of school ever" he told me. Yay for you sweet Donovan. http://heyharriet.blogspot.com.

Mosaic
We have been having heavenly weather the last few days. Gabriel was following the weather reports daily in fear that we would be getting a touch of a hurricane last week. This all happened to coincide with the first day of fourth grade for him. He was in a panic, and all for naught. It blew by with barely a breeze. He did enjoy watching Al Roker on the beach in North Carolina get blown around though. We spent part of yesterday on a river, fishing, relaxing and exploring and enjoying late Summer.

Panning for Gold
I took this picture last weekend as the boys along with friends panned for gold:). They never found any but took the process very seriously. They were so focused and still, for a good twenty minutes anyway. I love how I captured them in the foreground of this picture, and then leading your eye down the river. I played around with the sky a little to add drama to the late summer afternoon sun. It was a golden day for sure.
